Pathways to Permanent Residence

Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP)

After completing your studies at an eligible Canadian institution, you may qualify for a Post-Graduation Work Permit. This open work permit allows you to work for any employer in Canada for up to 3 years, depending on the length of your study program.

Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

With at least one year of skilled work experience in Canada gained through your PGWP, you may be eligible to apply for permanent residence through the Canadian Experience Class under Express Entry.

Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs)

Many provinces have immigration streams specifically for international graduates from Canadian institutions. These programs may offer a faster pathway to permanent residence for students who have studied in that province.
